Participant Reviews
In Their Own Words
Robert Hanson
Retired, British expat — Bangkok
"I arrived with a folder that had been sitting on my desk for two years because I had no idea where to begin. The starter session gave me a sensible order and explained what each letter type generally meant. I left feeling considerably less anxious about the whole thing."
June 2025 — Starter Organising Session
Patricia Müller
German national, Bangkok resident
"The workshop gave me a general sense of how the process flows — which I had genuinely never understood before. The team was patient and did not assume any background knowledge. I would have preferred slightly more time on one section, but overall it was worth attending."
May 2025 — Understanding the Process Workshop
Somchai Nakarin
Thai national, Chatuchak
"I signed up for the ongoing arrangement and it has made a real difference. Every few months we go through new correspondence together and I update my files. It keeps everything from piling up, and the checklists they provide are genuinely useful to have on hand."
June 2025 — Ongoing Records Support
Aigerim Ferreira
Brazilian-Kazakh, long-term Bangkok resident
"I appreciated that nobody tried to sell me anything or steer me in a particular direction. The session was genuinely just about understanding and organising my documents. That was exactly what I needed — I already have a financial adviser, but I needed someone to help me make sense of what I was looking at."
May 2025 — Starter Organising Session
David Thwaite
Australian, retired — Bangkok
"Solid, useful session. I have been putting off sorting my pension paperwork for far too long and the starter session got me moving. The person running it was clear and patient. I will probably come back for the workshop once I have reviewed what came out of this first one."
June 2025 — Starter Organising Session
Linda Woodhouse
Canadian expat — Sathorn, Bangkok
"The workshop was genuinely illuminating. I had heard the general terms before but never understood what they meant in practice. This filled in a lot of gaps and the written materials they handed out are something I have returned to several times since."

Case Studies
Three Participant Journeys
Case Study 01
From a Box of Mixed Papers to a Clear Filing System
Challenge
A recently retired British national living in Sukhumvit had accumulated twelve years of pension-related letters across two countries with no filing system. Documents were folded into envelopes, some undated, and she could not identify which were current.
What Happened
She attended a Starter Organising Session with the full collection. Within 90 minutes, the documents had been sorted by type, dated, and organised into a clear folder structure. The session facilitator explained each category in plain terms.
Outcome
She left with a complete filing system, a checklist of what was present and what was typically expected at her stage, and a much clearer sense of what she was working with. She subsequently booked a workshop to understand the broader process.
"I had been avoiding that box for over a year. The session was practical and unhurried and I left with something actually useful."
Case Study 02
Navigating an Unfamiliar System from Abroad
Challenge
A Dutch national had been living in Bangkok for seven years and was receiving correspondence about a pension built during his working years in the Netherlands. The letters were partly in Dutch, and he was unsure what the general stages of the process typically involved.
What Happened
He attended the Understanding the Process Workshop, which gave him a general overview of how pension paperwork typically unfolds. While the session was general and not specific to Dutch systems, the structural overview helped him contextualise the correspondence he was receiving.
Outcome
He left with written reference notes and a general framework for understanding what stage of the process different letter types tended to correspond to. He reported feeling noticeably less confused about what the correspondence was asking of him.
"The overview of typical stages was genuinely helpful. It did not answer every specific question, but it gave me a frame to work from."
Case Study 03
Year-Round Tidiness for a Long-Term Resident
Challenge
A Thai national in his late fifties had attended both a starter session and a workshop in previous years. He was satisfied with the initial organisation but found that new correspondence arrived throughout the year and quickly disrupted the order he had established.
What Happened
He enrolled in the Ongoing Records Support arrangement. Three times a year, he brings his recent correspondence to a short review session. New documents are incorporated into his existing system and anything unclear is explained in general terms.
Outcome
After two years on the arrangement, his records have remained consistently ordered. He has not had to deal with a build-up of unsorted paperwork since signing up, and the updated checklists he receives keep his reference materials current.
"It stops things from getting out of hand. Three short sessions a year is a small investment for not having a growing pile on the desk."
